Night Espresso 夜市浓缩 is a indie pop band that draws inspiration from jazz, dream pop, and bedroom pop. The idea of the band is inspired by the somber yet romantic atmosphere of the city nights — like a soft glow under neon lights, illuminating the hearts of wandering souls. The band consists of Jessica Liu (vocals / bass), Shelly Dong (vocals / guitar), Gloria Jin (percussion), Connie Lu (guitar / keyboard), and Xiaoyu Liang (guitar / keyboard). They met at Cornell University and bonded over their shared passion for music, coming together to form an all-female group. They write songs in both English and Mandarin, exploring themes of life's journey, emotions, human connections, and imaginations.
